How Dreamlands Works: AI-Powered 3D World Generation

If you've seen our launch trailer, you know the pitch: describe a world, and Dreamlands builds it. But what actually happens between typing "create a Gothic cathedral district" and walking through it in 3D?

Here's a look under the hood.

The Conversation Is the Interface

Dreamlands isn't a tool with 400 sliders and a 90-page manual. You talk to it. Describe what you want in plain language, and the platform interprets your intent, asks clarifying questions, and starts building.

This isn't a gimmick. It's how we solve the oldest problem in 3D production: the gap between a creative director's vision and what actually gets built. Instead of months of back-and-forth, you iterate in minutes.

What Happens When You Describe a World

When you give Dreamlands a prompt, several things happen:

  1. Intent Parsing - The AI understands not just what you said, but what you probably meant. "A spooky medieval city" carries implications about architecture, scale, style, and time period.
  1. Research and Reference - The system pulls from its understanding of real-world architecture, geography, and design principles. If you ask for "1400s Gothic," it knows what that looks like.
  1. Mesh Generation - Thousands of 3D meshes are generated, all stylistically coherent with each other. Buildings, props, vegetation, terrain — everything matches the visual language of your world.
  1. World Placement - Our placement engine automatically arranges everything into a coherent world. Buildings follow street layouts. Trees respect terrain. Props make contextual sense. It's not random scatter — it's intelligent composition.
  1. Playable Output - The result isn't a concept or a mood board. It's a full 3D environment you can walk through, fly over, and evaluate immediately.

The Iteration Loop

Here's where it gets powerful. Don't like something? Keep talking.

"Make the buildings taller." "Add a river through the center." "Change it to sunset." Each iteration builds on the last. You're not starting from scratch, you're refining.

This is the thing that changes production timelines. What used to take weeks of artist back-and-forth collapses into a conversation.

Export and Integration

When you're happy with what you've got, Dreamlands exports to industry-standard formats and integrates directly with your engine. We have one-click import plugins for both Unity and Unreal Engine, and our architecture is engine-agnostic — custom engine support is available.

The goal is that Dreamlands fits into your existing workflow, not the other way around.

Who's Using It

Dreamlands is already in production with AAA and AA game studios through Google Cloud Marketplace. Studios are using it for rapid prototyping and full environment generation.

We're also launching a subscription tier soon for indie creators and smaller studios. Join the waitlist if that's you.
